QUESTION 1: Does my business really need a web site?

The answer to this question depends on you and what your plans are for your business.  The main function of a website is to advertise to customers about your business. The reason why websites are amazing marketing tools is because you can do much more than just inform customers about your products and services. You can inform your customers about special events, discounts, and just about anything that might interest current and potential customers. Websites can be used as a tool for selling and a tool to communicate with customers. If you’re on the fence about getting a website because you have more customers than you can handle, and you know websites are known to increase clientele. My advice would be to ignore the marketing aspect of a website and to concentrate on the communication aspect. You can use a website to communicate and maintain a relationship with a current customer thus promoting customer loyalty, and if you ever decide to expand your business you website will be a great asset.

QUESTION 2: What is my cost?

As promised on the home page Novicius provides affordable websites to small businesses. We a monthly fee which is between $46.95- $150.00 depending on what plan you decided on. Assuming someone chooses our basic plan their first payment would be $46.95* ($46.95 + tax). Considering that the cost for a static website is anywhere from $1500 for a 3 page website and $20000 for a full commercial website the benefits of going with Novicius should be obvious.

QUESTION 3: I already have a web page on someone else's website. Why do I need two?

If you have a web page with the Chamber of Commerce or with a listing service in your industry or parent company, that is  good. However, having a web page with the Chamber of Commerce or with a listing service is not the same as having a web site. It’s very likely that the webpage provided to you only offers contact information and a brief description of your products and services. They usually put you into a wide category that generally includes your competitors, and in many cases, it doesn't offer the interaction with the public that your own website would offer. The worst part of this situation is that you don't own the site or have control over it. Your website becomes part of your brand and reveals your business identity to both potential and current customers. The reason why it’s good news that you have a page with the Chamber or other listing service is because it will enhance and empower your new website. It will drive more traffic to your site and you will have a leg over your competitors. If a visitor is looking for your product or service on the chamber of commerce website and finds five listings. If one of those listings has a link to its own website. The potential customer is going to go the extra step and will click further until he/she gets to your website. Whenever someone is scanning a list, people have a tendency to always want to know more, and your link gives them that opportunity.

QUESTION 4: I don't sell merchandise on-line. Why would I need a web site?

It does not matter whether you are selling merchandise on-line, or selling a service you need a way to tell people that you’re selling what their looking for. If you are currently offering something that people are looking for, and you don’t have a website you are missing out on potential clients that are currently looking for what you are selling.  A large portion of people (perhaps a market unknown to you thus far) is currently searching the Internet, because it's fast, it's easy, it's global and it's private. A web site will put you in the running with others on the Internet.

QUESTION 5: I don't even use a computer. I can't maintain a web site.

When you choose Novicius as your website provider you don’t have to worry about maintaining your website. The only thing you should worry about is the content that you want us to put on your website.

QUESTION 6: Our customers like the personal touch and most aren't computer users.

Getting a website should not interfere with the customer service you provide to your customers. Statistics prove that 65% of the population in rural areas uses a computer at least once per week, and 85% in metropolitan areas use a computer. These percentages will continue to increase, and website will keep you in sync with this trend.

QUESTION 7: I have a cousin who can make web sites. I've already promised him that he can do ours.

If you are getting a family member or a friend to design your website make sure that he or she is a qualified web developer. You might also want to make sure to impart a sense of urgency in getting the job completed as soon as possible. If he or she makes websites as a hobby, you'll want to consider the following: The beautiful graphics and memorable text you see on any website is only about 20% of what goes into developing the site. Behind all those pages are codes and tags, specifically written to attain a higher placement in search engines, make the pages load faster, and be more user friendly. Most beginners and hobbyists lack knowledge in the proper usage of codes, scripts, tags and search engine optimization. If you decide to go with a family member or a friend, make sure your website isn’t just a pretty web site, which no one can find because you will end up losing enormous marketing power.

QUESTION 8: Our upcoming advertising commitments will use all our marketing money.

A website is NOT an advertising investment. A website compliments and empowers your advertising efforts. The difference between an ad and a website is that an ad is the property of the advertising vendor. Ads are a revolving cost to a company because you buy an ad for a specific amount of time and then the ad is gone. A website on the other hand is a marketing and communication tool that belongs to you. You control it and you can use it continually. Websites reach a growing customer base that up until now has remained hidden to you. It also services your current customer base, giving them more options to communicate with you.  You can empower your advertising efforts by including your web address on all of your advertising, and give clients an opportunity to find out more.

QUESTION 9: A website seems so sterile and impersonal. It won't add to "our kind" of customer base that was built on personal relationship.

A website is very impersonal and that's a good thing. When customers use the internet they’re looking for information not a personal relationship. The information they find on your website will bring them to you and it will be up to you to create the relationship. Websites can’t build personal relationships with customers; it can however give you a higher number of potential customers to create a relationship with. When internet users don't find someone on the web, they usually seek out competing businesses that do have websites. The Internet gives everyone access, and it targets no one in particular. Internet users choose where to look, what to buy or what to watch. If your business does not have an online presence, it won't be found by this market segment.

QUESTION 10: I wouldn't know what to do with a web site if I had one.

Internet users find you not the other way around. They will either search for you because they've heard about your business, or they will be searching for a product you're selling. If your business is not listed, it doesn't exist to Internet users. We are trained professional that will assist with maintaining and handling the website all you have to provide is the content.
